pjur Gets Decadent at Southern Decadence Weekend in New Orleans!

Wasserbillig/Luxembourg, SEPTEMBER 2015. pjur, the favorite lubricant of the gay scene, was face front in New Orleans this past Labor Day weekend at the internationally famous Southern Decadence party and parade.  For the entire duration of the event (which lasted from 3rd to 7th September), the French Quarter in New Orleans was packed under the theme for 2015 of “Swimmin’ with the Gods and Goddesses”.

Now in its 40th year, this once small gay event boasts crowds of over 200,000 from all sexual persuasions. From the welcome center to the host bar and the “Bourbon Street Pub” club, pjur made its presence known with posters and banners inside and out. Thousands of pjur samples were given away to the participants of the event.  Additionally, pjur awarded the winners of the famous costume contest with safe sex kits and gift baskets. Besides the Parade down famous Bourbon Street, which was quite a spectacle, the dancers wearing pjur backpacks who threw pjur packets into the crowd also grabbed the public’s attention.

Glorious weather rounded off the perfect organisation of this fun 3-day Labor Day weekend event with its street party activities in New Orleans (the home of Louis Armstrong and French Cajun cuisine).

Southern Decadence started forty-five years ago as a simple going-away party. As a top gay Labor Day Weekend destination, it has evolved into one of the world’s major annual events with over 160,000 gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender participants in 2014, and an economic impact estimated to be in excess of $190 million.  It is one of the largest annual celebrations and festivals in New Orleans, and has become known as the “Gay Mardi Gras”.
